We met Dominick and the guys before the ceremony to capture some “tough guy” images and to have a little fun.  The guys were very easy going and funny, we had a great time getting to know them and work with them.  Next, we made our way to the beautiful bridal suite where Becki and her girls were getting ready.  Becki is absolutely stunning and is so comfortable in front of the camera, every shot seemed effortless for her.  She is as kind as she is beautiful, so spending some time working with her and capturing her bridal portraits and some special shots with her and the ladies was wonderful.  Their ceremony took place on the terrace outside.  You couldn’t have asked for a more romantic and picturesque location.  They were so thoughtful and gave each of their guests beautiful fans to help keep them cool on a hot June day.  We spent some time with their families and the wedding party following the ceremony.  Again, the beautiful decor inside Westfields gave us so much to work with, we tried to use as many of the unique and beautiful features of their lobby and lounge area as we could.  From the baby grand piano in the lounge, to the large columns and marble floor in the great room, to the beautiful staircases leading up to the ballrooms, this facility had so much to offer and we definitely tried to take advantage of all these wonderful features to create beautiful photographs for Becki and Dominic.  The reception hall was beautiful and roomy and the guests really enjoyed chatting, milling about and dancing with family and friends.  Congratulations Becki & Dominick!  You are amazing people and we wish you the best!!

Even if you are looking for a place to spend an afternoon, you can enjoy wine tastings and tours of their cellars where wines are handcrafted over 17 feet below ground.  You can also try a bottle of your favorite Moon Dancer wine on their patio or by their great room fireplaces with live weekend music year-round.

A few things note for the future… could have done without all of the traffic… this was a first for us. We typically visit OBX much earlier in the year, usually around Memorial Day. This being the 4th, a trip that normally takes us 6-7 hours, lasted about 12 hours.  The mosquitoes were also much worse. Daily spraying from the town seemed to help a little. Funny thing is, no mosquitoes on the beach… just inland and near the sound. I guess the ocean winds are a little much them.

Also, welcome the newest additions to the Krug Household.. yes… we have hermit crabs now. See if they can outlast our betas.
